Double Yellow Lines on Letter Box Lane / Tonbridge Road Junction

Detailed view of weathered double yellow lines on asphalt pavement, emphasizing urban texture.

Yellow Lines Extended:

Formal consultation was displayed to mark the junction of Letter Box Lane and Tonbridge Road with Double Yellows. These were not applied as consulted nor to include the full 10 metres* wherein parking is not allowed anyway. The lines have been extended, across the bottom of a pothole to match the consultation.

This matter is one of a number on the agenda to be considered in a promised joint tour of our roads and their furniture by KCC Highways with WHERA. Please let us know if you have a request for discussion.

* Rule 243 of the Highway Code is explanatory to Regulation 103 of The Road Vehicles (Construction and Use) Regulations 1986 which states;  “103. No person in charge of a motor vehicle or trailer shall cause or permit the vehicle to stand on a road so as to cause any unnecessary obstruction of the road”.
