Neighbourhood Watch – Driveway Intruders

Over the summer, there have been several reports of intruders on driveways within the WHERA area, checking for unlocked vehicles or easy access. Thankfully, no break-ins or thefts have occurred.

Recent NHW bulletins and WhatsApp updates have highlighted increased overnight activity from would-be thieves targeting high-value or specific vehicles, often using relay theft techniques. Some have also tried to obscure doorbell cameras with bright lights.

As we head into winter, please remain vigilant. Avoid leaving vehicles unattended while warming them up, and if possible, park in your garage. Visible deterrents such as steering wheel or crook locks remain highly effective.

On 23rd September, following resident reports, police made three arrests in our area—showing how valuable your vigilance and reporting can be. Please continue to report any suspicious activity to your road rep so it can be passed to the police. For emergencies call 999, or 111 for non-urgent matters.

The WHERA Committee includes representation from NHW but it is a separate organisation with different email distributions. Anyone wishing to be added to the NHW mail list should contact David Wolstenholme on:dw.wolstenholme@gmail.com.

Welcome to the new WHERA website. We're busy adding content, but if there's something on the old site you need in the meantime, you can still access it here.
