To help residents keep track of the new alternate weekly waste and recycling collections, we’ve produced handy collection calendars for the WHERA area.
The calendars show which bins are collected each week, making it easier to remember whether it’s a black bin and garden waste week or a green-lidded bin week!
Food waste continues to be collected every week.

Please note that collection schedules may vary between households, particularly during bank holiday weeks. You can check your individual collection dates and what to put in your bins on the Sevenoaks District Council website.
Important changes:
- ♻️ Alternate weeks: General waste (black bin) and garden waste are collected one week, with recycling (green-lidded bin) collected the following week.. Only put out the bin scheduled for collection that week.
- 🟢 Green-lidded bin: All dry recycling, now including glass bottles and jars, goes in this bin.
- ⚫ Black bin: General household waste only. No extra rubbish bags will be collected.
- 🌿 Garden waste: Now collected on the same weeks as general waste (requires an annual permit or official garden waste collection sacks).
- 🥕 Food waste: Continues to be collected every week.
- ⏰ Collection time: Bins must be out by 7am, not overflowing and with lids closed.
