Planning – Works Undertaken Without Planning Consent

We’ve recently been contacted by a number of residents who have highlighted building works and extensions carried out at properties across the estate without the appropriate planning consents in place.

This serves as a timely reminder that obtaining the correct consents before commencing any building works is not only a legal requirement, but a courtesy to your neighbours, who have a right to engage with the planning process. We’d also encourage residents to speak with their neighbours early on – as a simple conversation can answer questions, allay concerns, and ensure works proceed with goodwill on all sides.

If you’re unsure whether your planned works require planning permission, please contact Sevenoaks District Council or seek independent professional advice before proceeding.
